SYNOPSIS
Borneo Hot-Mix Sdn Bhd is a local asphalt supplier who uses the drum-mix plant and batch plant
to produce Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), where it is commonly used for our flexible
pavement construction. Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is a combination of approximately
95% graded aggregates bound together with bitumen (a product of crude oil) and
mineral filler with high temperature (around 160 degrees Celsius) at an HMA
facility. The quality of HMA is constantly controlled and tested through
various lab tests in the laboratory.
OBJECTIVES
1)
To expose working engineers and future engineers with the
operation process of asphalt batching plant for producing the HMA.
2)
To gain basic idea on the QA/QC for HMA.
