Hazardous

is generated from various sources and may come in many forms, including
liquids, solids, gases and sludge. Hazardous Waste often contaminates ground
water. Hazardous Waste can be known as
Scheduled Waste in Malaysia because these wastes were differentiated and
categorized in the first Schedule of Environmental Quality (Scheduled Waste)
Regulations 2005.
Increase of
Scheduled Waste is a result of industrialization process. In general, Scheduled
Waste treatment can be categorized into several methods including Landfill,
Solidification, Incineration, Reduction and others depend on waste
characteristics or laboratory test result. The cost of treatment normally
related to its difficulty in treating the waste. Improper treatment may result
in environmental pollution which leads to irreversible health problem for
living creatures exposed.

facilities that treating Scheduled Waste or performing Recovery process shall
obtain approval from Department of Environmental. Further to that, residues
