Introduction

Technical Talk on Project Management for bridge construction in Sarawak: Batang Sadong Bridge is jointly organised by IEM Miri Branch and Curtin Highway Infrastructure Research Innovation hub (CHIRI),a research hub under Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University, Malaysia. Batang Sadong Bridge, spanning 1.48 km over a river,is the largest bridge in Sarawak. The construction of this bridge, replacing ferry across the river improves the living standard of people in Sadong Jaya near Asajaya and Sadong near Simujan. With a permanent bridge connection, various sectors will benefit including agriculture, plantation and even future housing development. Besides technical aspect of the bridge construction, project management for the construction of BatangSadong, a major bridge constructed in Sarawak alsoan important aspect to be shared among engineers.
