A
total of 7 members consisting of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM)
Miri Branch & Young Engineers Section (YES) Committee Members paid a
courtesy visit to YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, the current Minister of
Energy, Green Technology and Water. The visit was done on the 9th of
August 2012, 10.30am at SUPP Town Office.
The objective of the visit was to
introduce Dato’ Sri to the Young Engineers Section of IEM Miri Branch as well
as to seek advice and wisdom from Dato’ Sri. During the visit, YES explained
their role in IEM, which is to continuously support their professional development
towards achieving a professional engineer status. YES continued to present on their
past activities which includes various technical site visits, seminars &
workshops, participation in YES National Summits and international level
conferences and also charity events. Through hard work and dedication of the
YES Miri Branch, they were awarded the 2nd best YES branch, out of
thirteen branches across Malaysia in total. IEM and YES Miri Branch is indeed
grateful for the generous contribution and continuous support by Dato’ Sri
Peter Chin.
